When will my employees be eligible for joining the plan?
The industry standard is 3 months. You can choose to apply this length to certain classes of employees and a different length to others. When you are dealing with high turnover in a certain class, it often makes sense to choose a longer waiting period. Let’s say you know that in your business new hires that last for 6 months tend to stick around for the long haul. In that case, you may want to extend the waiting period to 6 months. Other classes might still have a 3 month waiting period, others could be 9 or 12 months, or even longer.
